Three outstanding leaders have been added to the Center’s Board of directors.
Ari Z. Brooks
Ari is an accomplished fundraiser and nonprofit leader with over 25 years of experience in Maryland and Pennsylvania. Her career includes leadership roles in three not-for-profit organizations, with a focus on community engagement, philanthropy, and mission-driven initiatives. Prior to FOLMC, she led a $25 million capital campaign, managed corporate partnerships, and oversaw marketing and grant writing at a child welfare organization. Ari holds a BA from the University of Virginia and an MSW from the University of Pennsylvania. She is also a Board member of United for Libraries, and a recipient of the 2023 Excellence in Chief Executive Leadership Award.
Dr. Brian Grubel
Brian is a seasoned technology and business leader with over 20 years of experience in strategy, engineering, and operational leadership. As CTO of KrateoSky, he leads AI-driven aerial robotics innovation. Previously, he served as CTO for a 3,000-person division at Boeing, overseeing autonomous systems, undersea platforms, and global intelligence operations. His earlier roles include engineering leadership at Northrop Grumman and Lockheed Martin. Brian holds a PhD and MS in Electrical and Computer Engineering from Johns Hopkins University, an MA in Intelligence Collection and Operations from American Military University, and BS and MS degrees in Mechanical Engineering from the University of Maryland.
Nurah Muhammad
Nurah is a finance and accounting leader with 18 years of experience, specializing in nonprofit financial management. Since joining RSM in 2017, she has advanced from supervisor to director, overseeing month-end closings, financial reporting, internal controls, and process improvements. She also manages federal grant billing, tax preparation, and client engagements, with expertise in platforms like Sage Intacct, BILL, Financial Edge, and QuickBooks. Nurah holds a BS and MS in Accounting from Strayer University.
