Ellie Shippey, Communications Associate
Eleanor, “Ellie”, joined the team in August 2022 as the Center’s Communications Associate. Passionate about creating stronger communities and advancing diversity, equity and inclusion, Ellie decided to redirect her career into the nonprofit sector. She’s looking forward to applying and expanding her communication skills in her new role at the Center.
A graduate of James Madison University, Ellie comes to us from New Reach Marketing, a digital marketing services startup. There she began in an outreach position, coordinating articles that aligned with prospects’ content to improve search engine optimization. Her work product and hustle soon opened the door to additional responsibilities enabling her to have a positive impact on the company’s growth.
Ellie also served as a member of the board for Madison Equality, James Madison University’s LGBTQ+ club. This opportunity helped fuel her interest and commitment to promoting intersectional awareness, education and understanding among all levels of our society.
