2019 Annual Celebration continues winning track record

Nonprofits work hard meeting challenges, providing needed services and solutions, and working to strengthen and improve our communities. There’s little time to reflect on accomplishments, but it’s important to do so. Acknowledging success can guide future endeavors and helps to re-energize and inspire us. That’s why the Center has held an Annual Celebration—for 40 years!

On Tuesday, November 5, many of the region’s leaders came together to celebrate their own and each other’s achievements and hear from this year’s featured guest. Ibram X. Kendi is the founding director of the Antiracist Research and Policy Center at American University, a columnist at The Atlantic and a New York Times bestselling author. He talked about his latest book How to Be an Antiracist, sharing insights, perspectives and answers to questions from the audience.

Those who attended received a signed copy of Kendi’s book, met this year’s EXCEL and PCN award winners, connected with others committed to the nonprofit sector and enjoyed a delicious breakfast.

The Center thanks all those who helped make our 40th Annual Celebration a success.
