Ginna Goodenow is a 20+ year veteran dedicated to serving nonprofit executives, offering a wealth of experience in cultivating, coaching, creating, and carving out their professional paths. She founded Dragonfly Central, Inc. (DCI) in 2004, a national consulting firm based in Garrett Park, Maryland, specializing in advising nonprofits on executive search, transition management, organizational sustainability, and leadership coaching.

Ginna’s journey in the nonprofit sector began when she helped establish an aircraft safety association in 1996 while working in corporate aviation. This early experience sparked her passion for nonprofits, ultimately leading to her consulting work in 2004, where she focused on nurturing startup nonprofits, navigating the IRS, creating by-laws, developing board seats and executive positions, and coaching leaders to shape their organizations’ future. Since 2006, Ginna has primarily worked on transition projects for nonprofits, ranging from local startups to global institutions. As the CEO of DCI, she served as the Senior Executive Search and Transition consultant on nearly 500 projects in collaboration with TransitionGuides, Raffa, Marcum, and Good Insight. These projects encompassed various leadership roles, including CEOs, CFOs, COOs, CDOs, CMOs, CCOs, and CAOs, as well as Executive Directors, Deputy Directors, Senior Directors, SVPs, and VPs.

Ginna’s passion for nonprofits is evident in her coaching of hundreds of C-level executives. Her extensive experience has provided her with a front-row seat to more than 7,500 leaders seeking change and transformation. Her work has had a significant impact on nonprofit organizations, contributing to causes such as addressing intellectual and developmental disabilities, providing healthcare for low-income communities, fighting poverty, homelessness, and hunger, advocating for civil and human rights, working on racial and social justice, strengthening education access, funding environmental organizations, promoting affordable housing and community development, and ensuring a safer environment for children and youth.

Ginna holds a BA with a triple major in English, Marketing, and Sociology from Austin College in Sherman, Texas. She maintains an active interest in preparing the next generation of nonprofit leaders. Additionally, Ginna specializes in executive transition services, offering expertise in building attention-grabbing resumes, crafting audience-specific cover letters, developing impactful biographies, and providing coaching that explores motivations, dismantles barriers, and offers clear answers to the “why” and “what’s next” for her clients. Her direct, forward-facing, and action-oriented approach empowers clients to clear their paths and thrive in their future endeavors.
