Emily Hopkins, Communications Associate
Emily joined the team in 2021 as the Center’s Communications Associate. In 2020, she served as the communications director for the Elizabeth for Tennessee State House campaign, which raised more money than any other Democratic candidate in the past 20 years in that district. Additionally, Emily worked for Mark Conway’s successful run for Baltimore City Council and on Phil Bredesen’s 2018 Senatorial campaign.
Her background in issue-based communication and campaigns led Emily to explore the nonprofit world. She is excited to bring her experience in public relations, informational campaigns, and digital communications to her work at the Center.
Born in Boston, Emily grew up in Tennessee before moving to Baltimore for college. In 2020, she graduated summa cum laude from Loyola University Maryland with a B.A. in Communication, specializing in Public Relations. While at Loyola, Emily spent a semester in Singapore studying Communication at Nanyang Technological University and served as the co-president for the College Democrats chapter for three years. Emily loves the DMV area and is ecstatic to come back and work with groups focused on helping the community.
