Get Centered. Play BINGO!
Another Electrifying Round of Bingo!
We had a great time with everyone who joined us virtually in March 2023 for our 4th annual Get Centered with Bingo. Congratulations to Terrel White, the Director of the Center for Nonprofit Excellence, Cody Bahn, Communications Manager of Young Playwrights' Theater, and Brian Ullman, the Senior Manager of Learning and Impact for the Center for Nonprofit Excellence, who won our Grand Prize Gift Baskets. Our raffle winners were Jessica Graner, the Staff Accountant of Great River Homes, Inc., Bob Clements, CFO of Pathway Homes, Inc., Candy Herbert, the Director of Operations/HR at Farnham Family Services, and Marianne Stemm, the Director of Human Resources at Thrive Alliance. Read our full recap of this wonderful event here.
Hosted by Center CEO and Bingo Ambassador Glen O'Gilvie, the game ran like normal bingo, but board squares were associated with ‘tasks’ recommended by leading industry experts. To claim the square, players had to have completed the task.
A huge 'Thank You' to our sponsors for helping us put on an excellent event!

Your nonprofit should:
- Create a Benefits Purchasing Committee - A group of individuals tasked with the collective mission of evaluating and recommending employee-sponsored health insurance options for your organization. Creating a healthcare purchasing committee can greatly improve the decisions being made to improve inclusive employee benefits.
- Include DEI on the agenda of committee meetings - Adding a DEI committee to your health benefits decision making process will enable leaders to take deliberate and intentional steps to formally address health inequity within their own organization.
- Hold a yearly satisfaction survey on employee health benefits - Satisfaction with your employees’ benefits, particularly with health benefits, directly affects the ability to retain and recruit staff. Responding quickly to survey input with clearly communicated, proactive changes can result in a positive impact on your workforce.
- Prepare a timeline and checklist when purchasing health benefits - With competing priorities and health insurance renewal deadlines approaching, a well-formed timeline and checklist is the key to a thoughtful health plan decision. A systematic approach to health benefits plan purchasing can save time, money and greatly improve health benefits for both the organization and its employees.
- Research and explore new options to find the best choice for your team - VitalHealth partnered with Nonstop Administration & Insurance Services, Inc. in 2021 to drive down the cost of employee health insurance for small nonprofits with Nonstop Wellness. This means no upfront out-of-pocket costs for employees and employers benefit with a competitive composite premium from Kaiser or Aetna.
