
The Washington Post Award for Excellence in Nonprofit ManagementIs your organization managed with excellence? The Washington Post 2009 Award for Excellence in Nonprofit Management, a project of the Center for Nonprofit Advancement, recognizes outstanding management practices in the nonprofit sector and inspires other organizations to strive to become more effective. The Award includes a cash grant of $10,000 and a scholarship to Georgetown University's Center for Public and Nonprofit Leadership's Nonprofit Management Executive Certificate Program. Up to four honorable mentions will be awarded along with a $1,000 cash grant. Benefit from Your Efforts! Every application will receive feedback from our expert selection committee on each award question. So, your organization can benefit from the process in more ways than ever before. Accessing the Application The application can be completed online or on paper. The online application is the preferred method. For online applicants, download the information packet found at the end of this page. Click here to access the online tool. You will be asked to register. Once registration is complete, you can revisit your application as many times as you want through the application process. The application deadline is December 8, 2008. For organizations wishing to complete the application on paper, download the complete document at the end of this page. Paper applications and the supporting documents must be postmarked no later than December 8, 2008 for consideration. Online applications must be completed by 11:59 p.m. on December 8, 2008.
The award is owned and administered by the Center for Nonprofit Advancement. The Washington Post serves as the main sponsor of this award. Additional financial and in-kind support is from the Center for Nonprofit Advancement Benefit's Trust and Raffa, a Washington-based accounting and business management firm.
