Shared Back Office Support: Back Office in a Box (BOB) Program

Back Office in a Box (BOB) is a suite of high-quality administrative services made available at a reasonable cost to Center member nonprofit organizations throughout the Greater Washington region including the District of Columbia, Northern Virginia and Montgomery and Prince George’s counties in Maryland.

The program, which includes support in financial management and accounting (BOB Finance) and human resources (BOB HR), was developed in response to the expressed need throughout the nonprofit sector and designed to help nonprofit leaders maximize the effectiveness and efficiency of their organizations.

According to a 2009 survey of nonprofits across the region, 41% of nonprofits were not meeting their fundraising goals in the first half of the year. At the same time, nearly half had experienced an increase in demand for services.
