The Washington Post Award for Excellence in Nonprofit Management

The Washington Post Award for Excellence in Nonprofit Management is a project of the Center for Nonprofit Advancement. It recognizes an organization's outstanding achievements in nonprofit management. The award winner is selected through a competitive process by a panel of individuals with a wide range of expertise in nonprofit management. The program began in 1995 and is open to all Center members and any 501(c)(3) nonprofit in the Washington metropolitan area. The winner of The Washington Post Award for Excellence in Nonprofit Management receives a $10,000 cash award and a full-scholarship to Georgetown University's Nonprofit Management Executive Certificate Program.  In addition, up to four honorable mentions will also be recognized. Honorable mention winners each receive a $2,500 cash award.

Applications are distributed in October of each year with phase one of the application due December 7. The competition continues through the Spring when the award is presented in June. Click here for current application materials.

This award program is a program of the Center for Nonprofit Advancement, sponsored by The Washington Post, cosponsored by RAFFA, P.C., with additional support by the Center for Nonprofit Advancement Benefits Trust and Georgetown University’s Center for Public and Nonprofit Leadership’s Nonprofit Executive Certificate Program.
