A. Michael Gellman, CPA, Shareholder - of Rubino & Company, Chartered has more than 30 years experience in nonprofit accounting working as a financial and management consultant where he focuses on specialized management and advisory services for trade and professional associations, public charities, private foundations, private schools and endowment based foundations. Mr. Gellman works predominately with comprehensive budget and projection based system environment in support of senior management and organizational leadership. Currently, Mr. Gellman is the Shareholder responsible for the firm's Not-For-Profit Specialty Practice Consulting Services Group.
Mr. Gellman has been designing, installing, interpreting and teaching budget and projection based systems for over 25 years. He has conducted numerous seminars and has written articles on budgeting, reserve and investment policies, financial management, fees for services, leading economic indicators for nonprofits, and Federal form 990 and the impact on governance and transparency and accountability. Organizations and Institutions Mr. Gellman has spoken before include; American Institute of Certified Public Accountants (AICPA), Greater Washington Society of CPA's (GWSCPA’s), Institute of Management Accountants (IMA), American Society of Association Executives (ASAE) and GWSAE. Mr. Gellman teaches courses and has made presentations for Georgetown University, George Washington University, Virginia Tech, Anne Arundel Community College, State of Maryland Nonprofit Financial Management and Fund-raising Workshops, Mayor’s Office District of Columbia, U.S. Chamber of Commerce, Washington Regional Association of Grantmakers, Center for Nonprofit Innovation, Center for Nonprofit Advancement, and many other nonprofit organizations.
Mr. Gellman has served as Chair of Greater Washington Society of CPA's Not-For-Profit Committee and Chair of the Annual Not-For-Profit Organizations Symposium, Vice-Chair of the Greater Washington Society of Association Executives Budget Committee, and is a Past President of the Greater Washington Society of CPA's. He has also served on the Finance & Administration Section Board of the American Society of Association Executives and is the current Treasurer of Hillel at the University of Maryland and Chair of Marketing Committee and Continuing Professional Education (CPE) Committee for GWSCPA’s.
