Nancy Axelrod is an independent consultant who provides services to nonprofit organizations in the areas of board education, development, & self-assessment; leadership transitions; strategic planning; and meeting facilitation. Ms. Axelrod is the founding president of the National Center for Nonprofit Boards, where she served as the CEO from 1987-1996. She is an advisory board member of the Initiative on Social Enterprise at the Harvard Business School, and is a faculty member of the Institute for Presidents and Board Chairs of Independent Colleges and Universities and the Center for Association Leadership. Her most recent publication is Chief Executive Succession Planning: The Board's Role in Securing Your Organization's Future.
